Background
- Amit is a Partner at BSC, and is part of the indirect tax team with the Firm
- He started his indirect tax consulting career with Arthur Andersen & Co, eventually working with Ernst & Young and KPMG. His first Partner role was with Grant Thornton where he successfully led the India Indirect Tax team for almost 5 years. Amit was also part of the Leadership Team at BDO in India, where in addition to leading the India indirect tax team, also assisted the BDO Network Firms in implementing VAT in the Middle East. As part of TMF Group, Amit led the global delivery teams for the largest tax outsourcing assignment within TMF, supervising tax compliances across 85 jurisdictions

- Policy advocacy for GST exemption on stock broking entities operating from Gujarat GIFT City (IFSC units)
- Member of Global Tax Coordination Committee within Grant Thornton

- Successfully led 148 GST implementation assignments across India (with 100 percent client satisfaction in BDO post-GST implementation survey)
- Ideated and successfully rolled out EnableGST, the flagship tax technology managed services solution of BDO in India
- Developed a “zero tax” solution for leading petrochemicals MNC in India by advising on cross border supply chain
- Successfully led response to DRI investigation on India’s largest oncology medical devices company and its participating hospital network
- Advised Isreal’s largest defense contractor on meeting “make in India” norms as well as claim applicable tax benefits on supplies to Department of Defense
- Set up indirect tax function for several financial services entities; from banks, NBFCs to Insurance and FinTech
